PAELLA COOKING CLASS
Paella is Spain's most iconic dish — and one The Basque Market has proudly made its own.
Inspired by the Basque Country's home along the Bay of Biscay, our version is built around the sea: clams, shrimp, and mussels. But we're Basque through and through — Basque in Boise, no less — so naturally there's one ingredient we can't live without: chorizo. Paired with chicken, saffron, pimentón, and perfectly cooked rice, it all comes together in the paella our guests keep coming back for.
In this demonstration-style class, we'll walk you through the techniques behind exceptional paella — building layers of flavor, mastering the rice, and achieving that coveted crust. Along the way, we'll share the history of this emblematic Spanish dish and explain the role each ingredient plays in its distinctive character.
Plan to arrive at 5:30 PM to enjoy pintxos, sample wines, and settle in before class begins promptly at 6:00 PM.
Watch, learn, and taste as we share our favorite tips, techniques, and stories behind this beloved dish. Every class includes light pintxos, a wine tasting, and a generous serving of our chicken, chorizo, and seafood paella as the grand finale.
Tickets are $60 per person, non-refundable.
