Classes & Events

The Basque Market offers a variety of cooking classes/wine tastings each month. We can also customize a private class for you and your friends or colleagues! We taste three to four wines from the Iberian Peninsula. You’ll not only learn some great recipes, but also a fair amount about the wines of this region.

Classes are pre-paid and non-refundable. Please give us a call at 208-433-1208 or stop into the market to register and pay.

Arrive at 6pm for light tapas and wine tasting. Instruction for the class will begin promptly at 6:15pm.

Classes start at $40/person, paid in advance and are non-refundable. If for some reason you can’t make it, feel free to send a friend in your place.

Coca and Croquetas
March 11th

Learn how to make delicious Coca, Spain’s answer to pizza. This Tapa is one of our staff favorites. This simple dough recipe is easy and fun to make. Top these flatbreads with simple ingredients such as Quince Paste, Marcona Almonds and Manchego Cheese. Or try spicing it up with toppings of spicy Brava sauce, grilled chicken and fresh onions. You’ll soon love Cocas as much as we do!

Next, we will conquer the Croqueta! These savory little balls of fried happiness are often confused with mashed potatoes, however, you’ll soon learn potatoes have nothing to do with them. In class, we will be making chicken masa, hand rolling and frying them on the spot. Learn the secrets to everyone’s guilty pleasure.
